Summer Camp for 10 to 15 Year Old Boys

Are you looking for somewhere for your 10 to 15 year-old son to grow physically as well as emotionally? Camp Mowglis summer camp for boys is the ideal environment for your child to get back to basics and learn life’s more important lessons. In our “school of the open,” your son will flourish, learning how to connect with nature and those around him. As he grows with his peers, progressing with our program year after year, he will develop personal strength, independence, and a strong individual foundation.

A Fun, Wholesome Environment

Located in the woods of New Hampshire near Maine and Vermont, just 3 hours from Boston, and 5-6 hours from New York and Pennsylvania, Camp Mowglis sits amidst forests, lakes, and mountains. This beautiful, natural setting is the ideal summer camp environment for a maturing boy. Here, on our welcoming grounds, your 10 to 15 year-old son can strengthen his body and character, having tons of fun and excelling at new activities while building relationships.

Engaging Group Activities that Fuel Your Son’s Body and Soul

We’ve designed our unique summer camping programs to help your son learn how to grow as part of a team. Our small groups provide an intimate, engaging camping experience. Though each boy bunks nightly with other children his own age, each day at Camp Mowglis he will take part in daily activities with boys of all ages. They grow and learn together as a team. As each child progresses through each program, they learn from other boys.  Programs and activities are focused on their 10-15 year old age group.  As they participate year after year, the older boys naturally become mentors to younger children as they develop into confident, aware, supportive, helpful young men.

Building Friendships and Growing into a Leadership Role

The structure of our seven-week early teen program is hard to replicate, offering campers the opportunity to learn patience, tolerance, cooperation, and respect in a diverse community of their peers, maturing mentally and physically alongside one another. As your son grows within the Mowglis community, our goal-oriented approach will motivate him to reach new levels, no matter his age or level of ability.

Personal development and leadership are at the heart of the Mowglis experience. In particular, the boys are “unwired”, and seeing life in nature vs. through an electronic device.

At Camp Mowglis, the boys can always find a mentor to connect with, which is vital at this stage in their lives. As campers progress alongside their peers, summer after summer, they will learn new skills and earn awards while making lifelong friends. Our goal is to work with the younger boys to gain confidence and social skills, provide our 10 to 15 year old boys with interpersonal skills to fill the role of camp leaders when they reach their final year at the Den at age 14-15, guiding future children through the Camp Mowglis experience, and becoming part of the Junior Staff.

Encourage your child’s personal growth. Give your son an experience that will last a lifetime at Camp Mowglis summer camp for boys aged 10-15. Contact us at 603-744-8095 to learn more about our program, tuition assistance, or to reserve a spot for your camper today.

The Mow-Trow Gear Exchange: Smart & Sustainable Gear Sharing:

If your son has outgrown Mowglis uniform items (aka Mow-Trow) that are still in good shape, please add them to this spreadsheet. If you’re looking for Mow-Trow or other gear (hiking boots, backpacks, etc.), you can check out this spreadsheet, and if you find what you’re looking for, contact the parent who posted it up and either arrange for shipping (or to pick it up if you live in the same area).

The best way to pay for shipping will be for the family with the items to box them up and bring them to a UPS Store and have the parent receiving the items call the store with their credit card number. That is how we send lost and found items at the end of the summer, and it works quite well. Please note when items have been claimed once they have been. Any unclaimed items can be brought to camp on arrival day or shipped to camp.

Keeping Campers Safe: Our Tick Management Approach:

How do you manage the threat of ticks?

While we have fewer ticks in NH than in more southern New England states, we still take ticks extremely seriously.

Here are some big-picture ways we protect our campers from ticks:

  • Our defense starts with staff education – all campers and counselors are taught what, where, and when to look for, and we have the campers do tick checks at least daily and every time they’ve been out in the bushes.
  • If a tick is found embedded on a camper while at camp, he will go to the nurse for removal and bite-site mapping, and then the tick is saved, and the camper will be monitored daily for any signs of infection.
  • If there is a parental desire or signs of infection, the tick is sent to a lab for testing.
  • We have bottles of bug spray throughout camp and on all trips.
  • We cut back brush to minimize the chance of ticks hopping onto folks as they walk around camp.
