Best Boys Summer Camp in New Hampshire

Best Boy’s Summer Camp in New Hampshire

An overnight summer camp is one of the best experiences a boy can have, offering the opportunity to meet new friends, participate in exciting activities, and make memories that last a lifetime. However, finding the best boy’s summer camp near Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont can be challenging. What features should you look for in a summer camp for your son?

The Best Summer Camps for Boys Provide an Authentic Outdoor Experience

Nestled in the foothills of the mountains beside Newfound Lake, Mowglis’ facilities offer an authentic, unplugged, outdoor camping experience. Our immersive “school of the open” provides the perfect setting for your son to unplug and grow in body, mind and spirit, as he enjoys a variety of traditional camping activities.

The Best Boy’s Overnight Camps Offer More than Sports

Camp Mowglis is not your average sports camp for boys. Here, as your son explores a variety of traditional camp activities, he will grow physically, intellectually, and emotionally. He can try new things like swimming, hiking, rock climbing, crew, archery, nature studies, woodworking, cooking, arts and crafts, and more. Together with his peers, he will uncover hidden talents, striving to reach new levels and earn ribbons (Mowglis version of Boy Scout badges) while having tons of fun.

The Best Boy’s Summer Camps Have the Comforts of Home

Mowglis offers the ideal combination of a rustic camp setting alongside the comforts of home. After enjoying a day of activities, kids are grouped by age in our screened, open-air dormitories, sleeping safely in cozy bunk beds with camp counselors nearby. A ratio of one counselor for every three campers ensures first-time attendees feel stable and secure.

The Best Overnight Camps Keep Groups Small

Our limited groups of around 100 children appeal to kids, preventing them from feeling overwhelmed by a sea of strangers. In our tight-knit community, they will quickly get to know everyone by name, setting out on a journey with fellow campers that will forge lifelong friendships as they become valuable members of the Mowglis community.

The Best Boy’s Summer Camps Leave a Lifetime of Memories

Life at camp gets back to the basics, helping your child connect with others and the environment, learning life’s important lessons. As your son grows alongside his peers, sharing excitement over new interests and achievements, enjoying meals and evening campfires with friends, he will develop meaningful relationships, building memories that will stay with him forever.

The Mow-Trow Gear Exchange: Smart & Sustainable Gear Sharing:

If your son has outgrown Mowglis uniform items (aka Mow-Trow) that are still in good shape, please add them to this spreadsheet. If you’re looking for Mow-Trow or other gear (hiking boots, backpacks, etc.), you can check out this spreadsheet, and if you find what you’re looking for, contact the parent who posted it up and either arrange for shipping (or to pick it up if you live in the same area).

The best way to pay for shipping will be for the family with the items to box them up and bring them to a UPS Store and have the parent receiving the items call the store with their credit card number. That is how we send lost and found items at the end of the summer, and it works quite well. Please note when items have been claimed once they have been. Any unclaimed items can be brought to camp on arrival day or shipped to camp.

Keeping Campers Safe: Our Tick Management Approach:

How do you manage the threat of ticks?

While we have fewer ticks in NH than in more southern New England states, we still take ticks extremely seriously.

Here are some big-picture ways we protect our campers from ticks:

  • Our defense starts with staff education – all campers and counselors are taught what, where, and when to look for, and we have the campers do tick checks at least daily and every time they’ve been out in the bushes.
  • If a tick is found embedded on a camper while at camp, he will go to the nurse for removal and bite-site mapping, and then the tick is saved, and the camper will be monitored daily for any signs of infection.
  • If there is a parental desire or signs of infection, the tick is sent to a lab for testing.
  • We have bottles of bug spray throughout camp and on all trips.
  • We cut back brush to minimize the chance of ticks hopping onto folks as they walk around camp.
