Summer camp for boys offers more than fun and exciting activities. It’s a life-changing event for children and parents. Uncover what to take away from the Camp Mowglis experience in 2025.

Maintain New Year’s Resolutions for Reducing Screen Time

The average child spends over 6 hours a day in front of the screen. You’ve informed your kids that it’s time to prioritize spending less time on social media and gaming to safeguard their health. Now, you need to fill the void with other attractive activities. Our overnight summer camp for boys makes it easy to leave technology behind. Our unplugged summer camp offers an escape from the constant bombardment of notifications and a chance to form new, healthier habits. Here, your son can turn over a new leaf and reconnect with the natural rhythms of life, discovering he doesn’t need technology to have fun.

Improve Well-Being By Spending More Time Outdoors

Our scenic camp on Newfound Lake in the shadows of the White Mountains is the perfect cure for nature deficit disorder. At camp, after spending the night in our rustic, screened, open-air cabins, he’ll wake to the sounds of nature, spending the day outdoors engaging in fun and exciting activities before winding down by the campfire while sharing stories with fellow campers, reaping the tremendous health benefits only time spent in nature offers:

See Mother Nature in a New Light

The wonders of Mother Nature cannot be fully understood without walking beneath the trees, climbing a mountain, discovering a waterfall, swimming in a sparkling lake, and encountering unexpected wildlife. These experiences help children understand their role as protectors of the earth’s wonders.

Find New Interests that Inspire Continued Outdoor Activity

Immersing oneself in new camp activities is a great way to break old habits and encourage kids to choose ‘green time’ over ‘screen time.’ Shape your child’s body and brain, building muscles and forging new neural pathways with our wide assortment of options:

Meet New People and Become Comfortable with Face-to-Face Social Interaction

Interacting face-to-face with other children outside the usual family and social circles helps your child learn the art of conversation, compromise, self-control, cooperation, empathy, and other essential skills. Here, he’ll learn important lessons about being part of a community, surmounting challenges, and celebrating milestones alongside his peers while building memories and relationships that last a lifetime.

The Mow-Trow Gear Exchange: Smart & Sustainable Gear Sharing:

If your son has outgrown Mowglis uniform items (aka Mow-Trow) that are still in good shape, please add them to this spreadsheet. If you’re looking for Mow-Trow or other gear (hiking boots, backpacks, etc.), you can check out this spreadsheet, and if you find what you’re looking for, contact the parent who posted it up and either arrange for shipping (or to pick it up if you live in the same area).

The best way to pay for shipping will be for the family with the items to box them up and bring them to a UPS Store and have the parent receiving the items call the store with their credit card number. That is how we send lost and found items at the end of the summer, and it works quite well. Please note when items have been claimed once they have been. Any unclaimed items can be brought to camp on arrival day or shipped to camp.

Keeping Campers Safe: Our Tick Management Approach:

How do you manage the threat of ticks?

While we have fewer ticks in NH than in more southern New England states, we still take ticks extremely seriously.

Here are some big-picture ways we protect our campers from ticks:

  • Our defense starts with staff education – all campers and counselors are taught what, where, and when to look for, and we have the campers do tick checks at least daily and every time they’ve been out in the bushes.
  • If a tick is found embedded on a camper while at camp, he will go to the nurse for removal and bite-site mapping, and then the tick is saved, and the camper will be monitored daily for any signs of infection.
  • If there is a parental desire or signs of infection, the tick is sent to a lab for testing.
  • We have bottles of bug spray throughout camp and on all trips.
  • We cut back brush to minimize the chance of ticks hopping onto folks as they walk around camp.
